Filming and photography permits

Article: Filming and photography permits

If you would like to film or take photographs on DB premises, you will need to request permission from the DB Group press office.

Information for Filming, Photographing and
Recording in Deutsche Bahn Railroad Stations and Trains

Deutsche Bahn holds domiciliary rights within all DB trains and stations.

Media representatives should request permission in advance from the DB Group Press Office for filming, photographing and sound recordings on Deutsche Bahn premises and in Deutsche Bahn trains. You must apply for a permission online in advance to the desired time of filming (see below).

The DB Group Press Office will check your request and get back to you shortly.
You must carry your written filming permit with you and show it to DB employees if required. If you do not have written permission from the DB Group Press Office, you are not permitted to film. Deutsche Bahn reserves the right to take legal actions in the event of any violations.

Please note: We only permit photography in DB trains, travel centers and DB lounges in exceptional cases.

When traveling on trains, you need a valid ticket.

You do not need permission to take photos for private purposes (no commercial use) in areas that are freely accessible to the public. Please ensure that the personal rights of individuals shown, particularly passengers and DB employees, are always respected.

Please adhere to the following guidelines when taking photos or filming:

  • For close-ups of people, you must obtain the consent of the individuals depicted in advance.
  • The consent of the legal representative must be obtained in advance for close-ups of persons who do not have full legal capacity, e.g., minors.
  • Interviews with DB employees are not permitted.
  • When filming and taking photos in stations, it is essential that you keep the walkways clear, especially on platforms and stairs. Please ensure sufficient distance from the edge of the platform. You must not narrow the spaces on the platforms.

Please understand that, out of consideration for our passengers and employees, we cannot accommodate every request for permission.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the DB Group Press Office around the clock on 030 297 61030.
