CEO

Richard Lutz has been Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of Deutsche Bahn since March 2017. After studying business administration, he worked as a research assistant at Kaiserslautern University, where he earned his doctorate in 1998.

Having grown up in a railway family, he fittingly began his career at Deutsche Bahn in 1994. He held various senior positions in finance, then, from 2010 to 2017, he was Management Board Member for Finance and Controlling.

Richard Lutz was born in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, in 1964. He is married and has three grown children.
